Gehry House

Gehry House is a key early residential work where a conventional Santa Monica house was wrapped with plywood, glass, corrugated metal, and chain-link forms. It is culturally important because it shows Gehry's experimental language at domestic scale before the global museum landmarks.

The Los Angeles Conservancy identifies the house as a 1978/1992 deconstructivist work and notes its influence on modern conceptions of architecture and everyday life.
