Museum of Pop Culture

MOPOP turns pop culture into a destination, with Gehry's rippling metal exterior echoing the energy of music, science fiction, and screen culture. Its location beside the Space Needle makes the building a visual landmark even for visitors who do not enter.

The museum opened in 2000 as Experience Music Project and was founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen; the Frank Gehry-designed building has roughly 140,000 square feet of exhibition space.

Buy tickets ahead during peak tourist periods. The monorail runs directly through/alongside the building area, making Seattle Center transit-friendly.
